Dr Kevin Wright, DDS
Dr. Wright was raised in rural Oklahoma. After his education moved him through several states, he was excited to move back to the Rocky Mountains he grew up visiting as a child.
Dr.Wright began his undergraduate education at Texas Tech University before transferring to the University of Oklahoma to continue his studies in Chemistry. He continued his education at the University of Oklahoma where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
While obtaining his doctorate, Dr. Wright conducted research that earned him national recognition presenting for both the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Dental Research. He also received the Michael Louis Backowske Award for achievement in the anatomic science. At the conclusion of his training at the University of Oklahoma, Dr. Wright was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Society, an honor based not only on academic achievement but professional conduct.
After his doctoral training, Dr. Wright completed his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency training at the highly renowned department of OMS at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. During his surgical residency, Dr. Wright continued his research efforts leading to publication as well as presentation at both the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Wright maintains certification in Basic Life Support, as well as advanced training in Cardiac Life Support. He maintains his advanced surgical skills and knowledge through specialty training courses throughout the nation.
Dr. Wright holds hospital appointments at Sky Ridge Medical Center, as well as all four Colorado Springs hospitals: St. Francis, Penrose, Memorial Central and Memorial North. He regularly covers head and neck trauma call for the City of Colorado Springs. Dr. Wright is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and is a member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Colorado Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a member of the Colorado and American Dental Associations.
Dr. Wright is married to his high school sweetheart, Chelsey, and they have two children. Since moving to Colorado, they have enjoyed both hiking and camping, as well as skiing in the winters. Dr. Wright is active in his church and feels honored to donate his time and skills both locally and internationally.
