Dr. James Vetter, DDS

EDUCATION
He attended the University of Iowa where he received both his bachelor’s and doctoral degrees, graduating with honors. While attending the University of Iowa Dental School, he was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon society for exemplary scholarship and professionalism. He also received numerous awards, including the prestigious Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery award, given to the senior student demonstrating the most promise as a future oral & maxillofacial surgeon.
After obtaining his doctoral degree, Dr. Vetter completed a hospital- based advanced training residency at the University of Connecticut Health Sciences Center in Hartford, CT. He completed his training in 1990 and has practiced in Colorado since 1990.
SPECIALTY COURSES
Dr. Vetter is certified in basic and advanced cardiac life support. He also regularly attends continuing education courses to improve his surgical skills.
PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS
Dr. Vetter was board certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery initially in 1992 and has been recertified in 2002 and 2012. He is a member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Colorado Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
He maintains privileges at all Colorado Springs hospitals; Penrose-St. Francis, St. Francis Medical Center, Memorial Central and Memorial North.
PERSONAL
Dr. Vetter was born and raised in Iowa. Following completion of his residency in 1990 he has resided and practiced in Colorado for nearly 30 years. He and his beautiful wife, Jen, enjoy traveling, fine wines, attending Colorado Avalanche games, and playing golf as much as possible.
