Dr. Matthew D’Addario DDS, MD
Education
Dr. D’Addario obtained his bachelor’s degree in science at the University of Toronto. He then continued his education at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio; obtaining his doctor of dental surgery degree.
During his dental education Dr. D’Addario received the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Award, which is limited to those dental students who have distinguished themselves by excellence in scholarship, while demonstrating exemplary traits of character and potential qualities for future professional growth and attainments. He also received numerous scholarships for outstanding academic achievement. He is a Hinman Scholar, which is given to only two graduating dental students for leadership in dentistry and overall achievement.
Following his dental school training Dr. D’Addario obtained his specialty training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. During his training he concomitantly obtained his medical degree from the University of Kentucky.
He was a Beale Scholar, for academic excellence, at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and published several articles and chapters in oral and maxillofacial surgery related publications.
Specialty Courses
In addition to being certified in basic life support, he has advanced training in Cardiac Life Support. Dr. D’Addario has attended numerous specialty courses throughout the United States to continue to improve his skills.
Professional Organizations
Dr. D’Addario is a Board Certified (a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons) oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Colorado Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
He holds hospital privileges at all four Colorado Springs hospitals; Penrose-St. Francis, Penrose, Memorial Central and Memorial North.
Personal
Dr. D’Addario was born in Richmond Hill, Ontario and grew up in Thorold, Ontario. Growing up he always had a fascination for the mountains and ultimately achieved his goal of living in Colorado.
In addition to his passion for the specialty of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. D’Addario loves spending time with his wife, Andrea, and their three children. He continues to play hockey and enjoys attending Avalanche and Colorado College Hockey games. He is an avid golfer and enjoys all that Colorado has to offer.
